A CNN report:
"A top US diplomat says President Trump made the release of military aid to Ukraine conditional on a pledge they would investigate a political rival.
Ambassador Bill Taylor testified before an impeachment inquiry that he was told Mr Trump wanted Ukraine to probe ex-Vice-President Joe Biden's dealings.
Mr Taylor said relations with Ukraine had been ´fundamentally undermined´ for ´domestic political reasons´.
President Trump insists there has been no quid pro quo in Ukraine policy.
Responding to the latest testimony in Congress, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement: ´President Trump has done nothing wrong - this is a co-ordinated smear campaign from far-left lawmakers and radical unelected bureaucrats waging war on the Constitution´.
I served on more electoral campaigns than Trump can count. We never undertook ´opposition research´ for the following, very good reason:
In every election I ever worked on some guy would magically appear with dirt on the opponent, We showed him the door, first because it could be a setup by the opponent, and second we were too busy working on issue positions to present to the voters. Nobody could compete with us in that area, and nobody ever did.
Clumsy and naive, Trump believes what he has heard. And what he has heard from the other professional amateurs surrounding him is that every political candidate tries to trash his/her opponent.
Any election pro will tell you that the real problem is people who say they will help you and then don´t do it. They, not the opponent, are the enemy; they will ruin you if given a chance.
Nothing wrong...smear campaign...far-left...radical...war on the Constitution... The entire Trump White House spectacle was aptly described not by any TV talking head or Washington Post columnist or Harvard political scientist, but by Ronnie Milsap.
Lost in the ´50s tonight.
