With impeachment by the U.S. House of Representatives moments away, we turn our attention from round one to round two -- the trial of Trump by the Senate.
Two-thirds of the Senators are required to convict. The Democrats are nowhere near that number.
What to do?
Everybody in boxing with a sixth grade education knows that the size of the ring is the first thing to be determined. It is crucial to the outcome.
If you are the weaker fighter, you want to expand the arena pf conflict.
In the Trump trial, expansion takes the form of time. If you favor conviction, you want the trial to go on...and on...
The Republicans, to the contrary, will want the trial to be over and done with as quickly as possible.
The Democrats need to put Republican senators in the position of people on strike. The longer a strike continues, the more it sours, rots.
Impeachment by the House was a simple matter of numbers. No brains required.
We will find out in round two if the Democrats have them.
So far, their handling of the proceedings is not helping their case. Among other things, public support for impeachment is slipping.

I have a question for all you Trump supporters out there:
If Trump is innocent, then why is he behaving as if he were guilty?
