Time and motion analyses led me to the conclusion that the blog was inadvertently serving the interests of, shall we say, the wrong people.
I subscribe to Google Analytics, a program that allows Google clients with Web sites to determine how many visits their sites receive daily, their geographical origin, their servers, and so forth. But if someone wants to hide who he is, it is easily accomplished,
My site has received a large number of visits from unidentified visitors. Which means (reading between the lines) I have other ways than Google to determine if this site has been visited. The time of day of the visits and their number and pattern are dubious indeed -- dubious enough to stop the blog and/or change its contents for the time being.
I offer my deepest and sincerest apologies to visitors whose goals and values I share.
